Free to start. Paid lifts the limits.

Live sync, offline capture and everything the product is actually about are on every plan, including the free one. Paying removes ceilings; it doesn't unlock the idea.

What a company is buying

Work everyone can see the state of.

A board for every department and every project, live for everyone on it.

The month's run comes back on its own schedule. A one-off lands on the same board. The moment somebody checks a task off it changes for everyone, stamped with who, when, and the note.

A group of people who all take notes, or a company that can see its own work.

How does the first-month price work?

Your first month is $1 on Personal, or $5 on Pro. It is the ordinary monthly plan with the opening month discounted, so that is the only amount taken at signup, and the full rate, $10 or $20, begins at the start of month two and continues automatically. We'll email you before that first full-price charge, and you can cancel any time from your account settings; cancel before month two and the opener is all you ever pay.

Can I pay for a year at once?

Yes, on every paid plan: $99 a year for Personal, $189 for Pro, or $1,500 for Office plus $250 for each person past the first 5. Paying annually is instead of the first-month price rather than as well as it, because an opener covering your first month has nothing to apply to on a plan billed once a year.

Why doesn't Personal have meetings?

Because a Monday safety call is not what somebody keeping a personal notebook is here for, and charging them for it would be charging for weight they'd never lift. Meetings, which is the agenda, the notes, the actions and the standing series that remembers what was said last time, are why they're absent from Personal rather than rationed: it's a difference of kind, not of size.

What is the Work/Life split?

A switch above the tags that says which half of your life you're looking at. Every tag belongs to one side or the other, so choosing a side puts the whole of the other one away, not just its notes but its tags in every picker and filter you touch. It exists because the alternative, on a board with hundreds of tags, is selecting a dozen of them every time you want to see only work. Nothing is ever asked while you're writing: anything unfiled waits, and at a desk you take it in one pass on the arrow keys, most-used tags first. Filing one tag files every note under it. People are exempt and show on both sides, because who was there is not a fact about which half of your life it was.

What happens to my notes if I stop paying?

No note is deleted, and nothing you have written stops being yours to read, search, edit or tick off. The free limits apply again, which means that above 50 notes you keep everything you have and simply cannot write new ones until you are back under the line or paying again. The one thing that does eventually go is old images: free accounts keep attachments for 90 days, and anything already older than that is removed after we email you about it. The note itself, and its text, stay.

Do I lose anything by staying on free?

Not the parts that matter. Live sync between your phone and desk, offline capture, tags, checklists, deadlines, reminders, hiding the screen at a glance and getting everything back out again are on every plan. Paying lifts the ceilings, and each plan adds to the one before it. Pro adds group chats, meetings, the company directory and joining a company's boards when invited. Office adds shared boards.

What are shared workspaces?

Departments: shared boards the whole company works off. A department has its own running list of recurring jobs and one-offs, everyone in it can add work or mark it done with a note, and the status changes for everyone the moment somebody checks something off. Projects live inside them: a bounded piece of work with its own board, where every phase ticked is stamped with who and when, work orders carry priorities and estimated costs against a budget, and the whole thing prints to a progress report you can hand to anyone. Making departments takes Office, because a board with departments on it only means something with a company behind it. The board itself is not Office-only: from Personal up everyone gets one of their own, with the same work orders, phases, stamps and printed report. What a board of your own does not have is money. A Pro account cannot make department boards, but it does get one board of its own, and a company can invite it into their workspace, which is how a contractor works inside every operation that hires them.

Can I get my notes out?

Any time, on any plan, from your account settings: one JSON file with every note, tag, checklist, deadline, chat and connection. That's a right, not a feature.

How does Office billing work, and what is Office + Field?

$150 a month covers the first 5 people, of either kind. Each person after that is $25 a month on a full seat. Office + Field is the same subscription with the field turned on, $50 a month more: work orders, the link an outsider files a job through, the ops portal, and the money on a work order. With it, a technician can sit on an ops seat, $15 a month past the included 5. A seat is one named person. Members without a seat still belong to the company and keep everything they've written, they're simply on the free tier until you give them one.

Prices in US dollars. Subscriptions renew until canceled, and you can cancel any time from your account settings. See the terms.
